Purchasers in the CSMEF

The 5-day First China Small and Medium Enterprises Fair (CSMEF), closing today (Oct 22nd), not only witness fruitful achievements in trading, but also build up a bridge for China's SMEs to contact with the international market, says a Guangdong official.

Xu Shangwu, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee of China Small and Medium Enterprises Fair and Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Government of Guangdong Province, delivers the speech on the closing ceremony of the fair.

He says, the fair offer SMEs a chance to explore domestic and international markets and increase their popularity through the exhibition. A total of 118,000 visitors, 52,000 purchasers, including 5600 from foreign countries attends the fair. Moreover 24 of the world's Top 500 enterprises send purchasing delegates to the fair. The total trade volume reaches 32 bln RMB.

The conferences and seminars held during the fair help SMEs to better their understanding of related national policies and corporate financing approaches and help them to improve their management ability, innovation in technology and management.

In recent years, SMEs play a vital role in China's economy, as they contributing 55.6 per cent of China's GDP, 74.7 per cent of its industrial output, 62.3 per cent of exports, 65 per cent of patents and 75 per cent of technological innovations last year.

SMEs' current development will not be possible without the Center government's long-time economic strategy of accelerating the development of SME. And the success of this Fair is under the support of the Center government, Guangdong government, and leaders of all provinces, cities or regions.
